Global Dataset Project from Stanford Radiology & RSNA
(As of 2025.10.30)
My name is Sonali Sharma, and I am a researcher at Stanford Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging Center working with Dr. Curtis Langlotz and RSNA. I am reaching out to you because we are trying to create the first ever international and diverse radiology dataset that incorporates radiologists' reasoning when they interpret medical images.
We are looking for as many radiologists, residents, fellows, globally, to be co-authors on this dataset and subsequent publications/presentations by reading chest X-rays and dictate their reasoning and trace their eye-path.
If you could distribute this message to your mailing lists and your institutions, I would really appreciate it! We would love representation from the members of the Japanese Radiological Society and as many radiologists as possible in Japan!
ere is the information to share:
What are we doing: The Stanford AIMI Center is building one of the first global chest X-ray reasoning datasets to capture how radiologists think step-by-step when interpreting cases. This dataset will be publicly released and used to train AI models so that their reasoning aligns more closely with expert diagnostic logic, rather than fabricated or generic explanations.
Who are we looking for: Residents, fellows, attending/staff board-certified radiologists.
What do you need to do: Review and dictate reasoning and interpretation for 100 chest X-ray cases (~2-3 hours total) by Nov. 21st, 2025. We have all the chest X-ray images, de-identified on a DICOM viewer web platform and we are asking participants to go to the link and view the chest X-rays while dictating their interpretation and tracing their eye path at the same time.
What you get in return: Everyone who completes all 100 cases will be listed as an author on the resulting publication(s). Authorship will be a format similar to this consortium example
Please reach out to: sonali3@stanford.edu for more information or fill out this authorship form and you will be contacted with the link to the platform: https://forms.gle/LdyCirdpwxJZxyT28
Please let me know if you want to chat more about this on Zoom!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
